That Web Marketing Assistant Job is Just 400 Words Away!
In this time of recession and over-subscribed job vacancies, how can you stand out from the crowd when applying for that dream, web marketing job? The solution came to me in a flash when I saw a job advert for a junior web marketing assistant position while thinking about the internet marketing campaign for my latest website project: why not use some established online marketing techniques to promote yourself to a potential employer?
If you are reading these words on EzineArticles.com, then, consciously or not, you are aware of article submission as a form of web marketing. Companies most commonly use this approach to market their products or services to potential customers by getting their website noticed and by building trust in their brand, but there is no reason why you could not turn things on their head and strike with an attention grabbing article that sells YOU!
Obviously, an article all about yourself is not going to appeal to a wide audience (or be accepted by an online directory) and a potential employer should already have your resume, but, with a bit of research, you could write a promotional article about their company, showing off your writing and web marketing skills in the process.
There is no point in reinventing the wheel and just reframing information that is already out there, but why not find a new angle and approach the subject matter from your own perspective? After all, an employer is going to be interested in how you communicate with an online audience. For extra points, and to demonstrate your attention to detail, you could even name-drop some of their competitors in the article.
It might be the case, as with the junior web marketing assistant job I mentioned earlier, that you have very little information about the prospective employer. You need not worry; instead you could write an article focusing on the job title. Search engine optimization (SEO) is usually an important part of web marketing, and a carefully keyword-focused and well written article has a good chance of scoring high with search engines, proving in a practical way that you can perform some SEO magic.
With the time and effort that usually goes into applying for that dream job, it makes sense to go this extra step in order to show a potential employer that you mean business and to send your application to the top of the pile. If my job hunting tip is a real winner, you are, hopefully, looking at a future junior web marketing assistant!
